In March 2010, Viridis Energy announced the acquisition of Westwood Fibre Products, a Kelowna-based private company specializing in the manufacturing of high-grade, premium softwood pellets and animal bedding. A month later, in April, Viridis announced the acquisition of Monte Lake Forest Products, a Kamloops-based post and rail mill with over 36 acres of land, in the center of one of the largest wood lots in Canada. The Company intends to utilize the expertise of Westwood and the facilities of Monte Lake to expand its wood pellet manufacturing operations to build a state-of-the-art facility.
Viridis currently distributes Okanagan Pellets™, premium softwood pellets to the North American market through its distribution company, Cypress Pacific Marketing, an established and leading provider of superior product and customer service.
